청교도 추수감사절 기도문

Praise and Thanksgiving -찬양과 감사-

O my God,

오 저의 하나님이시여,

Thou fairest, greatest, first of all objects,

my heart admired, adores, loves thee,

for my little vessel is as full as it can be,

and I would pour out all that fullness before thee

in ceaseless flow.

주님은 가장 아름답고 위대하시며 무엇보다 먼저

저의 마음이 주님을 존경하고 사모하며 사랑합니다.

그 이유는 저의 작은 그릇이 넘치도록 가득 차 있기 때문입니다.

저는 주님께 그 모든 충만함을 끊임없이 쏟아붓고 싶습니다.

When I think upon and converse with thee

ten thousand delightful thoughts spring up,

ten thousand sources of pleasure are unsealed,

ten thousand refreshing joys spread over my heart,

crowding into every moment of happiness.

제가 주님을 생각하고 주님과 교제할 때에

만 가지 행복한 생각이 솟아오르고,

만 가지 즐거움의 원천이 열리고,

만 가지 유쾌한 기쁨이 제 마음에 울려 퍼져

모든 순간순간에 행복감이 넘쳐납니다.

I bless thee for the soul thou hast created,

for adorning it, sanctifying it,

though it is fixed in barren soil;

비록 척박한 땅에 저의 영혼이 처했을지라도,

저의 영혼을 가꾸고, 거룩하게 하도록

주님께서 조성하신 저의 영혼이 주님을 사모합니다.

for the body thou hast given me,

for preserving its strength and vigour,

for providing senses to enjoy delights,

for the ease and freedom of my limbs,

주께서 저에게 주신 육신으로 인해,

그 힘과 활력을 보존하기 위해,

즐거움을 즐길 수 있는 감각을 제공하고,

저의 팔다리의 마음껏 사용하기 위해,

for hands, eyes, ears that do thy bidding,

for thy royal bounty providing my daily support,

for a full table and overflowing cup,

for appetite, taste, sweetness,

주의 말씀을 실행하는 손, 눈, 귀를 위해,

날마다 제공해 주시는 하늘의 상급을 위해,

가득 찬 식탁과 넘치는 컵을 위해,

식욕, 맛, 달콤함을 위해,

for social joys of relatives and friends,

for ability to serve others,

for a heart that feels sorrows and necessities,

for a mind to care for my fellow-men,

친척과 친구들과의 즐거운 만남을 위해,

다른 이들을 섬길 수 있는 능력을 위해,

이웃을 배려하는 동정심, 연민, 아픔을 느끼기 위해,

for opportunities of spreading happiness around,

for loved ones in the joys of heaven,

for my own expectation of seeing thee clearly.

주변 사람들에게 행복을 전할 수 있는 기회를 위해,

천국의 기쁨 속에서 사랑하는 이들을 위해,

주님을 만날 수 있는 저의 기대감 때문입니다.

I love thee above the powers of language

to express, for what thou art to thy creatures.

저는 주님의 창조물에 대한 주의 존재를 표현하는

어떤 언어의 힘보다 더 주님을 사랑합니다.

Increase my love, O my God, through time

and eternity. Amen

오 저의 하나님, 현세와 영원을 통해 저의 사랑을

더욱 키워 주소서. 아멘
