“그리스도를 닮은 그리스도인”(Christ-like Christians)

[성경]

"하나님을 따라 의와 진리의 거룩함으로 지으심을 받은 새 사람을 입으라" (엡4:24).“and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness”(Ephesians 4:24)

[묵상]

우리 인생은 하나님의 형상에 따라 창조되었다. 모든 피조물 가운데 인간만이 `하나님의 형상대로`창조된 것은 최고 영광이다.

Humans are created in the image of God. Among all creatures, Among all creatures, only humans are created ‘in the image of God’ and that is the highest honor.

범죄하고 타락한 인간은 하나님의 형상이 파괴되었다. 그 파괴된 형상의 회복이 구원이요 그 구원의 긍극적 목적이 바로 그리스도를 닮는 것, 곧 성화이다.

Sinful and fallen humans have destroyed the image of God. The restoration of the destroyed image is salvation, and the ultimate goal of salvation is to resemble Christ, that is, sanctification.

파괴된 형상을 회복하는 길은  "하나님을 따라 의와 진리의 거룩함으로 지으심을 받은 새 사람을 입으라"(엡4:24)이다.

The way to restore the destroyed image is to “put on the new self, created after God in righteousness and holiness of truth” (Ephesians 4:24).

하나님이 우리의 삶에 대해 가지고 계신 궁극적인 목적은 ‘편안한 삶’이 아니라 그리스도를 닮은 인격체가 되는 것이다.

God’s ultimate purpose for our lives is not a ‘comfortable life’ but to become person who resemble Christ.

하나님은 우리가 영적으로 성장하여 그리스도를 닮기를 바라신다. 그것이 바로 구원 이후 성화이다.  "너희 안에서 행하시는 이는 하나님이시니 자기의 기쁘신 뜻을 위하여 너희로 소원을 두고 행하게 하시나니"(빌2:13).

God wants us to grow spiritually and become like Christ. That is sanctification after salvation. “It is God who works in you both to will and to act for his good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13).

우리는 이에 대하여 믿음으로 순종하여 변화되기를 힘써야 한다. 구원은 우리의 노력으로 되는 것이 아니지만, 성화 곧, 영적인 성장은 우리의 노력과 순종이 따른다(눅13:24, 롬14:19, 엡4:3, 딤후2:15, 히4:11, 벧후1:5, 3:14). 그것도 긍극적으로 주님이 주시는 은혜로 되어진다.

We must strive to change by obeying this in faith. Salvation does not come through our efforts, but sanctification, or spiritual growth, follows our efforts and obedience (Luke 13:24, Romans 14:19, Ephesians 4:3, 2 Timothy 2:15, Hebrews 4:11, 2 Peter 1:5, 3:14). Ultimately, this is achieved through the grace given by the Lord.

오 주님, 저의 영원한 연금술사시여,

주의 형상으로 연약한 자를  빚어주소서,

제 안의 모든 더러움을 불태워 주소서,

오직 주님의 모습을 닮는 것이 소망이 오니,

바닷가 조약돌처럼 갈고 갈아주시고,

맑은 정수처럼 성령 망사로 걸러 주셔서,

주님의 미소가 제 얼굴에서 나타나게 하소서,

주님의 향기가 제 입술에거  뿜어지게 하소서,

온 종일, 쉼없이 주님을 사모하게 하소서, 아멘(2023.12.26).

O Lord, my eternal alchemist,

Shape the weak in Your image,

Burn all the filth within me,

The only hope comes from being like the Lord,

Grind it like a pebble on the beach,

For filtering it through the mesh of the Holy Spirit like clear purified water,

Let your smile appear on my face,

Let your fragrance pour from my lips,

Let me long for the Lord all day long without rest, Amen(2023.12.26).
