English Ministry Pastor

JooHyang Church is a Korean Presbyterian Church located in Los Angeles,
affiliated with the KPCA (Korean Presbyterian Church Abroad).

As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, our church is prayerfully entering a new season of vision and renewal.
In the midst of a rapidly changing cultural and spiritual landscape, parents and church leaders have come together with a shared burden for the next generation.

We are seeking a pastor who will join us in this meaningful moment,
to help shape and lead the future of our English Ministry.

Position Overview

Position: English Ministry (EM) Pastor 

• Young Adults / College Students , Youth Group (Middle & High School)

Responsibilities

• Lead Sunday English Ministry worship services

• Facilitate post-service small group gatherings

• Provide pastoral care and discipleship for youth and young adults

• Teach, mentor, and walk alongside students in their faith journey

• Develop and implement a clear, gospel-centered vision for next-generation ministry

• Partner with parents and church leadership in nurturing students’ spiritual growth

While there is no fixed early morning prayer duty for this position,
occasional EM or Youth-related meetings, activities, or services may take place
on Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings, depending on ministry needs and seasonal schedules.

We value clear communication, flexibility, and healthy collaboration in ministry planning.

Qualifications

Applicants should meet the following qualifications:

Required

• Ordained pastor who has graduated from an accredited theological seminary

• Fluent in English

  • Must have attended middle and/or high school in the U.S. or another English-speaking country.

• Experience in Youth and/or Young Adult ministry

• Legally eligible to work in the United States

  • Green Card sponsorship is available for qualified candidates

• Conversational Korean ability
  (to communicate with parents and understand the Korean church context)

• Familiarity with Korean-American church and EM ministry settings

Vision for the Next Generation

We are not simply seeking someone to maintain existing programs.

We are prayerfully seeking a pastor who carries a clear calling and vision for Youth and Young Adult ministry,
who understands the challenges facing the next generation,
and who desires to build relationships, disciple students,
and help the church take faithful steps forward in this new chapter.

Compensation

• Salary: Full- time Approximately $4,000 per month (negotiable)

• Visa / Green Card Sponsorship: Available for qualified candidates

• Additional details will be discussed during the interview process

주향 교회는 미국 로스앤젤레스에 위치한 한인 장로교회로 

KPCA (해외한인장로회) 교단에 소속되어 있습니다.

올해로 창립 50주년을 맞이하며, 교회는 새로운 비전과 방향 속에서 

다음 세대를 세우는 사역에 다시 한 번 마음을 모으고 있습니다. 

부모들과 교회 리더들이 함께 기도하며 

다음 세대 학생과 청년들이 신앙 안에서 자라고 든든히 뿌리 내려 

설 수 있도록 도우며 함께 새로운 발걸음을 내딛고 있습니다.

청빙 분야

• 직책: English Ministry (EM) 전임 목사

• 청년부 (대학생 및 Young Adults) / 중·고등부 Youth Group

사역 내용

• 주일 EM 예배 인도

• 예배 후 소그룹 모임 및 제자훈련

• 청년 및 학생 대상 목양 및 신앙 지도

• 수련회 및 단기선교, 특별 이벤트

• 다음 세대 사역을 위한 비전 수립 및 실행

• 부모 및 교회 리더십과의 협력 사역

본 포지션은 정해진 새벽예배 담당 의무는 없으나, 

사역 특성상 필요에 따라 수요 저녁이나 토요일 오전 시간대에 

학생부 또는 EM 관련 일정이 생길 수 있습니다.

지원 자격 

• 인가받은 신학대학원을 졸업하고 안수 받은 목사님

• 영어로 소통과 설교
  (중고등학교 이상을 미국 또는 영어권에서 수학하신 분)

• 청년 또는 학생부 EM 사역 경험자

• 미국 내 합법적 취업 가능자
  (자격 충족 시 영주권 스폰서 가능)

• 한국어 기본 소통 가능

본 교회는 단순히 사역을 유지하는 분이 아니라, 

무너져 가는 다음 세대의 가슴아픈 현실을 함께 느끼고, 

새롭게 일으킬 비전을 가지고 함께 할 동역자를 찾고 있습니다.

• 급여: 풀타임 월 약 $4,000 (협의 가능)

• 비자/영주권: 자격 충족 시 스폰서 가능
